Hudson had shown signs of mental health struggles, but reportedly stopped seeking help due to concerns about stigma in the military. Madsen has requested an investigation into the circumstances around his son’s death

After Hudson’s passing, Carlie posted tributes online, expressing deep grief: “I just wish you would have talked to me… I’m sorry I didn’t see the signs.”

The family said in a statement: “We are heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief and pain at the loss of Hudson.”
