An unusual ground incident involving a Frontier Airlines Airbus A320 (tail number N365FR) led to major delays at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on August 16, 2025. During ramp preparations before departure, a ground air-conditioning hose was reportedly drawn into the aircraft’s #1 engine, where it was torn apart.
The scheduled service, Flight F93134 from Charlotte to LaGuardia, had to be cancelled for that aircraft due to the damage. Passengers were eventually accommodated on a replacement jet, though departure was delayed by nearly nine hours.
What Took Place
Aviation sources indicate that the A320 had earlier operated Flight F92387 from Philadelphia, arriving in Charlotte at 10:25 AM. While being readied for its onward trip to New York, the powerful suction from one of its CFMI LEAP-1A26 engines allegedly pulled in the attached cooling hose from the ground A/C unit. The hose disintegrated upon impact with the fan blades, prompting ground crew intervention and a thorough inspection.
