Shania Twain catches heat for blonde look at awards show

Shania Twain made a high-profile return last week as the host of the 2024 People’s Choice Country Music Awards, and the response from fans was… divided.

At this point in her career, Shania is considered a true legend of country music—an artist whose global popularity has endured for decades. With a track record like hers, it wasn’t surprising that she was chosen to front the prestigious ceremony.

The event, held on Thursday, September 26, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, drew plenty of buzz. Much of that attention centered on Twain herself—though perhaps not always in the way she might have hoped.

As expected at a glitzy awards show, the singer didn’t limit herself to just one look. Throughout the night, she sported multiple outfits, ranging from a white fringed suit with a matching cowboy hat, to a corset-style top with a satin mini skirt and dramatic black cape. She later dazzled in a sparkling red gown that even the official People’s Choice Country Awards account highlighted on social media. At 59, Twain continues to embody confidence, glamour, and style.

Still, the reaction wasn’t all positive. While many praised her presence and fashion, some online critics weren’t impressed with her hosting performance, and her wardrobe choices also became a topic of debate.
