Dallas Air Show Tragedy: B-17 Flying Fortress and P-63 Kingcobra Collide in Mid-Air
In November 2022, a heartbreaking accident occurred at a Dallas air show when two historic World War II aircraft—the B-17 Flying Fortress and the P-63 Kingcobra—collided during a commemorative flight celebrating America’s aviation legacy. The mid-air collision destroyed both planes instantly, resulting in the deaths of all crew members on board.
The B-17, known as one of the most famous heavy bombers of the Second World War, and the P-63, a rare fighter plane, were participating in a Heritage Flight demonstration when the tragedy unfolded.
