In a devastating update from the ongoing search at Mystic Camp, rescue teams have confirmed the discovery of an 8-year-old girl who tragically lost her life during what was supposed to be her very first time attending the camp.

According to authorities, the young girl had been missing for several days after a storm tore through the area, leaving several parts of the forested campgrounds destroyed and communication lines down.

She was finally located by a rescue team late last night, partially hidden beneath broken branches and loose soil near the camp’s northern edge.

But the most heartbreaking moment came when her parents were called in to identify her. Witnesses say the moment they saw her, they collapsed in grief.

Officials believe the girl may have suffered blunt trauma during the storm — likely from debris or a falling tree — which left her facial features disfigured. Her identity was only confirmed through clothing and a bracelet she always wore, gifted by her mother before camp.
