Suggested emergency supplies include bottled water, non-perishable food, flashlights with extra batteries, basic medicines, and copies of important identification documents stored in waterproof containers.
Other helpful items can include a multi-tool or small knife, cash, a portable radio for communication, warm clothing, and simple navigation tools like maps or a compass. Preparedness experts stress that these recommendations are about readiness rather than panic.
