She was found with a small amount of drugs and paraphernalia in her possession.<\/p>\n<p>Staddon\u2019s mother, Veronica, says she \u201ccompletely suspects\u201d that her daughter died from an overdose of fentanyl, says CBC. Her official cause of death has yet to be determined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy best friend, my daughter, my sweetheart baby \u2026 I will never stop missing you,\u201d the mother wrote on Facebook. \u201cMy heart won\u2019t stop breaking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Veronica, Gwynevere had been struggling with substance abuse for some time. Prior to her death, she told her mother she had stopped using for three weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve quit, so I\u2019m OK now, Mom,\u201d Veronica recalled Gwynevere saying. \u201cIt was calling out her name, and so she thought, \u2018One more time.\u2019 The one more time was the very last time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Veronica says she looked into putting Gwynevere into rehab, but the wait lists for public clinics are too long and she could not afford a private clinic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I don\u2019t have $50,000 available, then they are not something I can use as a resource,\u201d she told CBC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe whole world is missing out on a born entertainer,\u201d Veronica continued. \u201cEither that, or a future politician.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Veronica says she wants to see more done to get drug dealers off the streets and to provide rehabilitation to those in need.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note: we are republishing this story, which originally made the news in August 2016.
