Despite being a decades-long resident and a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, Masihi was swept up in a wave of mass detentions targeting Iranian nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Her husband, Arthu Sahakyan, told local outlet Fox 11 that ICE arrived at their home (where a massive \u201cKeep America Great\u201d Trump flag hangs proudly out front) and took his wife into custody. Before leaving, she kissed her kids goodbye. They haven\u2019t seen her since.<\/p>\n<p>The kicker? This family isn\u2019t just passively political, they\u2019re full-blown MAGA diehards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe supported Trump in the last election,\u201d Sahakyan said. \u201cWe gave our kids MAGA hats. We wave the flag.\u201d And still, ICE knocked on their door.<\/p>\n<p>Masihi, now in her 40s, moved to the U.S. when she was just 3 years old. But around 15 years ago, her green card was revoked due to a theft conviction, Sahakyan said. Since then, she\u2019s been trying to regain her legal status while regularly checking in with immigration officials.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"'MAGA' mom detained by ICE; Her husband says he'll still support Trump | FOX 11 LA\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V0W7EQaGkd8?feature=oembed\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\" data-origwidth=\"640\" data-origheight=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Everything seemed to be going fine, until tensions between the U.S. and Iran flared up again. Just days after the U.S. bombed three Iranian nuclear sites on June 21, Masihi was detained, along with over 130 other Iranian nationals, according to federal sources.<\/p>\n<p>Sahakyan, while clearly missing his wife, says he still backs the crackdown. \u201cI\u2019m very for the U.S. vetting Iranian nationals because of the sleeper cells,\u201d he told Fox 11. \u201cI think it will resolve a lot of issues\u2026 even though I miss her dearly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for\u00a0Trump? He\u2019s not blaming the POTUS. \u201cTrump is not trying to do anything bad,\u201d Sahakyan said, per\u00a0PEOPLE. \u201cHe wants the best for the country. I\u2019m just trying to make the best of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Masihi, meanwhile, is reportedly being transferred to a different detention facility, and admitted over the phone that she\u2019s growing worried about her future in the country she\u2019s called home for nearly her entire life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m on the list to be going to a different facility,\u201d she said tearfully during a call with Fox 11.<\/p>\n<p>Despite it all, Sahakyan isn\u2019t backing down. While friends have begged him to take the Trump flag down, he\u2019s not budging.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cI\u2019m still supporting Trump,\u201d he said. \u201cEven though my friends say, \u2018Take the flag down, you\u2019re going through a lot,\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018No, the flag stands.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A California man is refusing to take down his pro-Trump flag, even after ICE showed up at his house and detained his wife, an Iranian immigrant.
