In an interview with The Times, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor reflected on the\u00a0legal battle\u00a0that stemmed from a 2018 op-ed in which Heard described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” Although she didn’t name Depp directly, his legal team argued the article implied he was the abuser, leading to a 2022 trial that drew international attention.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Look, it had gone far enough,” Depp\u00a0said, explaining his decision to pursue the lawsuit. “I knew I’d have to semi-eviscerate myself.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
