Js,”<\/i>\u00a0one post\u00a0noted, while another\u00a0defended\u00a0the decision,\u00a0“Honestly, it’s no different than walking around 2000 years ago spreading the word \u2014 just because it’s a different medium doesn\u2019t make his work less meaningful.”\u00a0<\/i>Someone else\u00a0asked, “I don’t get it. What makes him a saint?”<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There were more\u00a0comments like,\u00a0“I can see the heroic virtue of Frassati, but just what exactly did Acutis do that was heroic ( and designing a website doesn’t make one heroic)?”<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The road to this dual canonization has not been without its twists. The late Pope Francis first revealed plans to canonize Blesseds Frassati and Acutis during the General Audience on November 20, 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Acutis\u2019 canonization was scheduled for April, 27 \u2014 Divine Mercy Sunday \u2014 coinciding with the Jubilee of Teenagers. Frassati’s was to follow on August, 3 marking the close of the Jubilee for Youth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

However, those plans changed abruptly. On April, 21, the same day Pope Francis passed away, the Vatican announced the postponement of Acutis\u2019 canonization. The delay cast uncertainty over Frassati\u2019s canonization as well, leading many to assume both would be rescheduled indefinitely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now, with a new pontificate and a fresh decision from Pope Leo XIV, both young men are set to be canonized together\u2014 binding their stories in a single moment of spiritual and historical significance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Acutis lived a life that many would describe as ordinary \u2014 school, soccer, video games, and even saxophone lessons. But behind his youthful energy was a profound devotion that set him apart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

From a young age, Acutis exhibited an uncommon spiritual maturity. At just seven, he received First Communion and committed to a daily routine of Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Rosary. “To always be united with Jesus, this is my life plan,” he once\u00a0wrote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
